Our history and operations

Katherine’s family have farmed at Wallops Wood since 1938 and diversified the estate to offices and industrial units. Bowman Ales brew wonderful ales here and one of the beers is called Wallops Wood!

Wallops Wood Cottages

Previously used for lambing, two of the farm barns were converted to Wallops Wood Cottages and the beautiful swimming pool. We named each cottage after a Grand National Winner as they are located on the Old Hambledon Racecourse site.

Grenville at Wallops Wood

Fast forward to 2022 and Grenville at Wallops Wood opened to welcome guests for luxury self-catering holidays. These three holiday houses are located a mile away from Wallops Wood Cottages in a peaceful woodland setting. We built with accessibility and sustainability in mind and the luxury houses are contemporary in design.

Glamping at Wallops Wood

Alex Evans developed the glamping meadow with vintage-styled shepherd’s huts at another part of the Wallops Wood estate. Wriggly Tin Shepherd’s Huts was born in 2012 and Alex continued to offer these beautiful shepherd’s huts for off-grid getaways until we acquired the business in early 2023.

Cleverly designed and decorated with a vintage touch, the Huts and Tiny Houses can be hired for Shepherd’s Hut Holidays. Cook on wood-burning stoves, sleep in snug beds with deluxe linen, and experience a relaxing and memorable Shepherd’s Hut holiday. Hire the whole site for your get-together and discover a quiet off-grid retreat away from the modern world.

Soak under the stars! Butser and Old Winchester are the shepherds huts with woodfired hot tubs. Enjoy en-suite facilities in Cosy Glamping Houses St Bride’s and The Wriggly Inn, both have a shower and composting toilet.
